It has coincided with the cold weather, when I've been turning the heater knob on to full (and similarly, I don't know what that actually does -- is it connected to some kind of servo motor to open/close vents, or is it a simple mechanical linkage ?). Simple mechanical linkage Peter. The knob operates a push/pull bowden cable in turn operating remotely fairly common heater valve, controlling the coolant flow through the core. There's a 2019 Plus 4 currently for sale, the photos show the dash with (apparently) a 3-position fan and a 4-position heater control. That's the Plus 4 GDI dash.
The fan is two speed.
The heater control is just a rotation knob, no specific stops, even though there are blobs!

Picture here to illustrate Dave's comments. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/RACzArH.jpeg) You can just see the pressed steel pinion that attaches behind control knob and moves the quadrant located at right angles via outer row of holes, in turn operating on Bowden cable. The inner row would operate ball detent if there was one!

Peter: If your Roadster has aircon (mine doesn't), you will inevitably have a small amount of condensate appearing under the car from time to time, after a run. There will be a bigger puddle in humid weather. And yes - it will be clear, colourless and tasteless. Where the drain for your aircon is, I wouldn't know - but somewhere amidships I should imagine. Of course - if you don't run with the aircon engaged - the foregoing doesn't apply.
