Just had a quote for insurance from Morgan Insurance Consultants £341, up 31% on last year. All requirements same as last year. Anyone had a better experience?

Best wishes

Sounds about right - I'm paying £346, also with Morgan Insurance Consultants. If you were paying 1/3 less last year then I reckon you were just lucky!

As with lots of insurance related stuff they rely on people who just auto-renew without punting round for new quotes

I have recently changed the tintop & house to new co's for less cost than last year, and in one case got enhanced cover, but it can be quite time consuming checking all the t&c's properly

It may be something to do with the fact they were acquired by Finch.

As of 1 Jan 2022, the FCA are requiring that all insurance companies ensure that renewal costs for home and vehicle insurance, are the same as quotes for new business. They openly admit that this will probably lead to higher prices but expect prices to “remain competitive”. Huh!
So don’t be surprised everyone when your quote goes up in the coming year.

Why is it that only two or three insurers in the UK are willing to cover the 5-Speeder? Most of the mainstream companies just don't want to know. A bit of competition would be reflected in premiums charged.

Small numbers, difficult/expensive to mend if they are banged...hard to price the risk so if you are a mainstream insurer, why bother.

Gott and Wynne have had our vote for nearly 10 years with our M3W at <£300 last time round ... yes, price is high per mile but if one buys a reasonably expensive toy like one of these, one has to be prepared for the associated running costs

Just a reminder that members of the Morgan Three Wheeler Club can get a free valuation for agreed value insurance purposes through the club. This is a hassle-free service (done from photographs and description) which usually only takes a day of two to complete. It's worth reviewing the value of your car, especially bearing in mind the increase in values over the past few months. Check out the members section of the MTWC website for more details or contact me via a pm.

My understanding (and I stand to be corrected) insurers consider "agreed value" as "maximum value". So agreed value may be useful if the car value depreciates over time. HOWEVER, if the car price goes up and the market value is now above the agreed value, the insurer will only pay the lower agreed value.

For this reason Idid't go for agreed value for my 3 wheeler.
