You could always build back in a demister

I shall fabricate something anyway... I was reading this article the other day and the following para made me smile "I had spent a lot of time on the Internet researching peoples’ experiences of the MSVA. As a result I had devised the de-mister system (2 12volt hair dryers mounted in a box under the bonnet and connected to the vents via home made hoses and ducts). Why a de-mister is required for an open top car still defeats me!"

An enormous amount of time was taken fitting and adjusting the windscreen wiper system to make sure it didn’t tie itself in knots when operated! To date they have been used once! Perhaps we should just whip the screen off and the wipers/washers and see what weight we can get the 4/4 Sport down to instead of fretting about brocken screens  I thought his bit on the wipers quite good too. Thanks p.s. Hold onto any surplus 12v hairdryers in case this catches on

I wonder if the cost of the replacement screen from the factory is for glass only or for the screen and frame? The email I had from Uroglas suggested that as the glass was so fragile and difficult to fit in frame, the screen could only be purchased from Morgan.

It does seem crazy effectively throwing away the screen frame...far better that Morgan fit a new screen into the existing frame.

Are there any screens broken fitted with an easy up hood? Are the screens used with an easy up hood equal (material and dimensions)? Is it possible that, if the screens material and size is same same, the difference of the frames could be responsible for the issue? I am wondering because mostly the screens are described to crack starting in a corner.
Could different cornering of the two frame types, in case of 9 stud frame, cause internal tension/pressure between screen and frame?

Just picked this up in the November edition of 'Classics Monthly', Issue 183. On page 19, Classics Monthly are working with a company Tyneside Safety Glass who are said to be confident that they can produce laminated glass in batches for interested clubs and individuals. The article does mention TSG supplied heating elements to the editors Peerless.
Usual disclaimer is I know nothing about this company other than reading the short article in the above publication.

Perhaps the MSCC could do a Club "Deal" with this manufacturer to supply the screens at a reasonable cost.
