I had one of those (CL600) with the V12. Secondhand and devalued like a stone from new. Probably the best car I have ever owned. So underrated it is a crime.

I test drove a Bentley GT, Aston DBS and the CL and it was no contest. The V12 made it so smooth and the interior quality was unlike anything else I have played with then or since.

That was such a lovely car. Mine was a fair bit younger and half generation later with the different headlamps etc. It also had the CL65 AMG alloys on it which gave it a different stance. The interior on that one looks a bit grubby but it is no youngster. I bet you could put another 100k on that as long as you did not mind a few bits going U/S.

It was not as scary as I thought but there were a few moments that the warranty covered. Air suspension system went AWOL so it looked like I was driving one of those Chicano low riders with the air suspension wobbling around. The pump was going to be £500 and the controller £1100 but the warranty covered it. The big service was going to be £1200 at 96,000 miles as they had to pull the whole front off the car to do the drive belts. The mpg was marginally better than the ML63 but that is a bar so low a snake would have trouble getting under it. Rear tyres were a giggle - 500+ hp and 285/30/20 might get 5000-8000 miles a set.

This would be in my "Top 10 must-have cars" and this is a very nice example.

The photographic presentation of this car is brilliant....

That's a beauty, low mileage and a great colour.
