My 2018 Roadster is described on the V5C as a "Roadster" so things have obviously moved on wink

It's not an error. Here is an extract from an email exchange between myself and Mark Leddington of MMC last year:

"From a type approval perspective, we homologated 3 variants of the traditional cars (all based on the ‘4/4’ model type as this was the most economical way to do this) and so we ended up with these variants - 4/4 1800 (4/4)
4/4 2000 (+4)
4/4 3000 (Roadster"

This came to light when I was arguing with the French registration authorities regarding my Plus 4 that I imported from Italy.

The issue I have with this, unless I'm wrong, is that 4/4 stands for 4 wheels and 4 cylinders, but roadsters have 6 cylinders.

Well you'd better take that up with MMC then.

Our 4/4 4 seater is described on the V5 as a Saloon!

I have learned from experience not to raise such queries with DVLA, they unilaterally changed the description of my Jago Geep to 4x4, when I told them it wasn't I was issued with a Q plate.

For mine, the registration document for 2011 states that it is a “Plus Four”....ahead of its time?

The VIN number of my 2008 Plus 4 contains the digits 442000, but the car is characterized as a Plus 4 4-seater. The top speed is listed as 240 km/h forcing me to use V-marked tyres. On the other hand there is plenty of room for engine improvements without exceeding the aporoved top speed. sherlock
