I would wait cutting it until you have the old pump out so you can compare and decide whats needed. I was ready to cut mine , but found the new one fitted as supplied.

Good advice Nippymog. I think I’m going to find exactly the same.

I recently replaced my OE fuel pump with the Walbro unit and found I didn't need to reduce the entire height, only to trim ever so slightly at one? end to have it sit flush.
Another THANKS for the instructions!

Well it looks the same but the base of the foot is only 6mm so all I can slice off are the bits protruding from the top of it. That is what confused me and still does if I’m honest.

Actually now I’ve looked at it again it is only the 6mm at the bottom I need so it becomes clearer. I’ll sort it once I start the job.

If the rubber part you've been sent looks different to the one in the instructions then would you be able to take a couple of photos so that we can update the fitting instructions? It's possible that Glencoe are using an alternative rubber foot after some people reported that the old type swells up when in contact with fuel. Thanks!

I don't think this is anything amazing. I find that I have been swelling up with age and extra fuel as well. I think this is more common than you think.

Here are Jonathan's photos of the newer type Walbro rubber foot: ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/01/23/Later_Walbro_Foot_1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/01/23/Later_Walbro_Foot_2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/01/23/Later_Walbro_Foot_3.jpg) It does indeed appear that it will end up at around the right thickness if just the protuberance is cut off.
