I must say the cyclist around here behaved sensibly. It must be together with the left turn / pedestrians at junctions rule a nightmare in London & other big cities.

Yep, I can think of several junctions around us where abeyance to the new highway code & stopping just because a pedestrian looks like they are waiting to cross will end up with the car waiting in a main road to turn left being rear-ended

The end of our road is a staggered junction with two mini roundabouts in (very) quick succession and it's quite common for road users to ignore the second roundabout. It's already a dangerous junction with near-misses a daily occurrence. Throwing pedestrians waiting to cross and/or a cyclist into the mix is a recipe for disaster.
School chucking-out time could prove interesting as the junction gets extremely busy at this time anyway with kids on bikes (who ignore the rules anyway) pedestrians and parents parked on yellow lines waiting to pick up their little darlings as they can't walk more then a few feet. I predict a few rear-enders over the coming weeks.

I've not had the opportunity to contribute to this thread before as the 4/4 has been in bits (resprayed the wings). However now it's all back together we had an inaugural ride out around the lanes of Norfolk. Not far, just enough to check that nothing falls off and to check that the electric fan comes on and off. There was some evidence of salt on the roads (but not on the car) but it was rinsed down anyway and dried off on our return. I just need to cure the rattling side window and change the aweful indicator buzzer that I installed 18 months ago. I've had the car just under two years (first Morgan) so during most of the pandemic. Isolating the first year and car in bits the second so hardly any miles done. Hopefully we'll change that this year!
