OH BOY that's a nice looking car. Makes the Davrian I used to own, look like a garden shed. I've been out in the garden several times this afternoon, and no matter how long I stare at the old garden shed it just won't turn into a Davrian. Rats !

I hope this goes well but I suspect it may end up the same as (the rather wonderful) Zenos.

Life gets more and more difficult for anyone trying to break into the car industry .... modern cars are just too competent and fast ... when the likes of Lotus and TVR broke they were able to do so with cars that gave a clear performance advantage over your average banger. Now your average banger has performance beyond what can be used to the full either legally or sensibly on the public road. Likewise earlier startups that were actually reliable at a time when most cars were often marginal in actually chugging up the road for the required journey could earn a place in the market.
Modern cars are just too good in general to make competition from a standing start likely

Add to this the issue with bringing anything based on a petrol/diesel motor facing a fast closing window and it really is a little nuts these people make the effort. Good on them.
The Gordon Murray GMA50 Jenson being involved in the Radford TVR, ahem Wells Vertige, amazing with such few resources that they have done this.
It will be interesting to see what the Aerials of this world do next. I still fancy one of their insane bikes.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Davrian? The builders working on my house a few years ago rented a portable toilet made by 'Davlav'. I think it was made of something like GRP so may have been a related product 😉

A very interesting concept and I hope it succeeds, however the very pretty and similar Alpine A110 is arguably even prettier, and didn't I read recently that they were going to stop production because they weren't selling enough. Not a good omen for the Wells then.
At the moment, if I was in the market, which I am not, I would rather get an Alpine I think.

A wonderful affordable little sports car with the right power to match the weight. I see the Alpine Renault, on the other hand, as already too grown up. It's here more of an Elise positioning with great taste and beautiful aesthetics. Of course I take seriously the various concerns expressed here in the thread. In summary, I would say it is not only an attractive retro sports car, "back to the roots", but it is to be feared that the concept and idea itself are already retro. I wish much success and would not be averse if I did not have my beloved Elise for 15 years.
