As a new owner of a pre owned m3w since mid December and 500 miles later, my question is will there come a time when i can get on with other things rather than constantly thinking about adding to or driving the thing.

As Paul says distraction therapy might help, I have 3 Morgans and alas it does not.

I hope that once you buy all the aftermarket "upgrades" for the car this obsessive behaviour starts to drop. Alas, I'm only halfway through the upgrade acquisition cycle, so I am still obsessed.

Child rearing gives a brief respite? I must beg to differ! Child rearing simply steals all the buget or time available! When I got married I bought the wife a Lotus 51c with a Lotus 22 bodyshell fitted and F3 period wheels for hill climbing and sprinting. Child rearing stopped play there although she did do the Brighton Speed Trials in it when mildly pregnant, see link below for start line picture.

Think my wife would now say I have too much tinkering stuff! She said I could have as many cars as she can have children. So we got into fostering. I can't afford matching that number of children with cars now!
