Thanks chaps. On the basis that all the cars are dfifferent, I'm now also "pursing another line of enquiry". Logic tells me that if the sidescreen doesn't fit flush into/against the U-section rubbers, it could also be that the entire sidecreen is "standing off" too far. So what could be causing that ? I don't have sufficient basis for comparison, but something is telling me that it's due to the sponge rubber section glued onto the inside of the sidecreen being wrongly positioned over the bracket - see pic - which even when fully squidged would put the sidescreen say 3mm too far out ? (if that makes sense). Is it like that on all Roadsters or indeed other Trads of that era (2009) ? Compare it to one of the illustrations in "Making a Morgan", which shows the rubbers NOT going over the bracket, but rather stopping short each side. Which is correct ?

Ok, I am intrigued by the last photo. Are the legs of the side screens screwed in? I am starting to restore a set for my car. It appears the legs are 14" apart, but the side curtain brackets are 15" apart. The legs are welded to the frames. Is it possible just to have screws hold the legs on rather than weld them?

As a second question, the plexiglass was held on by screws from the chrome strips, is it advisable to change the solid plexiglass window to a track so you can open the window (like they do on the newer cars).

I've found with all the cars I've owned it doesn't hurt to put a gentle bend in the front of the sidescreen. Gently bend it over your knee untill you get required fit . Don't go to wild.

Finally cracked it ! (and apologies if this is a cross-over from another post about the sidescreens and the hood-flap fit).

Having stripped everything back and replaced the seals, I figured what shape to cut the (bottom) ends, and also how to tuck-in the inner hood flaps. Result: pretty good fit on the seals I reckon, hood up or down. Now to get out and give the car a blast (and hopefully no flappy sidescreens !)
