I see pictures of newer cars with a bolster fixed to the side curtain, providing a padded area above the current door but below the side curtain horizontal window. Anyone know how this bolster is attached (e.g. screwed threw the side curtain, velcro, glue, etc.)??
Thanks, Mark

Screwed into the widescreen uprights but you could Velcro or glue if you desired.

I think Mark is referring to the additional padding done by the likes of Allon White that blocks the gap between top of door and lower sidescreen, The gap that leads to an air chilled elbow

Yes this as performed by Allon White's trim department. The latest CX cars have similar ex factory. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/HHf1ZHN.jpg) As can be seen its certainly screwed on with the leather wrapped around a stiff plastic? backing. I'm sure a car trim specialist in the USA could match leather and provide similar.

I have the same AW needed the car to get the fit right. So I doubt you can buy off the shelf.

Graeme is correct, the padded area above the door is what is of interest. The one in the photo is a variation I have not seen before and is quite lovely. I can clearly see the screw attachment points (and assume they mate with the holes through the metal side curtain frame) but there is another variation I have seen, where the padding covers the complete side screen area and there are no obvious screws. How does it stay on? Maybe this variation is the factory version?
I want to try to figure out my approach to this and then will engage the professionals!!
And again, many thanks!!
Cheers, Mark

I used Williams to have mine made. I found the pull padding looked better, IMHO, and negated having a roll around the bottom and rear of the car. it also helped fill the forward most corner gap. I actually had a second set made so can dig out the extra set and take pics of the backside if you wish. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/02/02/UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_523.jpg)

Yes, the backside pic would be of value.
Thanks again, Mark

The trimmer at RTCC showed me these ones a few years ago, which I prefer with no fixings showing. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/03/15/16AE6D2B-B6A9-42E5-AEE8-EBD9AA47C8A7.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/03/15/19CF1F47-81AD-42C2-A57E-EA41C04F7DD4.jpg)
