I just bought a set of these beautiful billet valve covers designed by Hesketh Motorcycles for the X-wedge. Stumbled across them on eBay and pulled the trigger. They had 7 sets available. 400£ per set. Quite reasonable considering the engineering and manufacturing involved.

If you're interested in one of the remaining sets, I'd quickly ring-up Tony Clark at Hesketh or drop him an email at info@heskethmotorcycles.co.uk

I'll post pics after I get them polished and installed on my M3W.

Think they were circa £300 last year/year before via another seller - same 7 sets...along with the Hesketh Cam chest covers. (edit - just noticed the email address given - the cam chest covers were sold by a bike breakers)

They do look nicely different in black, but only the bare ones are available on ebay. (were but it now seems they are no longer available?)

To create a vortex driven by the movement of the cam belt. This in turn expunging the belt dust and so increasing belt life.
I could be wrong though innocent

I'd suppose for some minor additional surface area for oil cooling transfer, and because with a CNC and CAD, it's easy to do :-)

Whatever the (technical) answer is, they look wonderful.
Just promise you won't pop-rivet on some "Morgan" plaques, which appears to have been done to this Aero Supersport which has been for sale for ages for some reason(s)....

If your cambelt is in the rocker covers I think you will find you have other problems wink

a nice big, deep, spiral cut. Engine turned marks on the mating surface look good and serve a function but the concentric spiral is still a mystery to me. They look like cast into the underside of the cover and maybe it is to add rigidity. They also would let the oil that splashed up onto the covers to drop back down more randomly rather than run toward the edges.

The spirals are just machining marks left by the cutting tool as it is rotating along a spiral path. There will be very little evidence by feel and will be smooth, what it does do is show the tool path used and the reflections from the aluminium
