Had the pleasure of visiting Pembleton today and driving the T24. Does not come more traditional hand building than this. Very welcoming guys, coffee offered rather than being pointed to the cafe by the Morgan sales staff. Felt a well engineered strictly functional bit of fun. Little bit steam punk. Probably not for me but the demonstrator is going up for sale early next week, 1000 miles on the clock. Their three wheeler may temp me though when the demonstrator is built.

That sounds like a really good personal touch visit and who knows maybe a three wheeler on the way in the future. We do have one member with the four wheeler on here.

I'm glad you are getting on well with the car, they really do look a blast.

Pound for pound their three wheeler is a strong contender against the Morgan. How residuals would hold up is a guess as few of the company built cars have been resold. I was not listening for bits falling off, i cant say the same when driving the M3W. It may be controversial but ceasing selling kits has to be good for the brand. Something quite special about having a car built in a couple of sheds opposite a middle England village church

Most Pembleton self builds are to a good standard, Phil was choosey to whom he would sell a chassis (never a kit, just a frame and a set of drawings for the body) to, so he effectively had 100 prototypes built by experienced engineers and car builders and was able to take ideas and lessons learned on board for the production models. Morgan could have done with doing likewise to sort their 3 wheeler!

To be fair to Guy he did say that their decision to cease selling to self builders was part brand protection but mainly supply and cost issues. But you see the problem that also comes with self built cars. The word Kit is rightly or wrongly associated with them. Type into google Pembleton and kit car pops up. There is a thread on the Pembleton forum "Are Pembleton kit builders disowned by the new company". Potential buyers who do not do the homework could easily move on to something else.
