A few weeks ago I was sworn to secrecy. I received an invite to put together a display of M3W models old and new as part of the Launch Event. To say that we are excited and privileged is an understatement to say the least. I have put together a good mix of vehicles for our display and those owners will accompany Maria and I to the Launch on 24th February. Over the weekend i shall be announcing who the lucky Touring Group owners are.
THE INVITE SAID,
Dear Ian,

The Morgan Motor Company invites you to the launch of its all-new three-wheeled model on the 24th February at the Morgan factory in Malvern Link, Worcestershire.

Celebrating 113 years of Morgan and its three-wheeled story, the evening is themed to be as unique as the cars themselves. Commencing at 7pm, with arrivals from 6pm, a formal presentation of the model will take place alongside plenty of opportunity for guests to take a close look at the new model.

The optional dress code is simple: "Different"

We shall all Dress to be Different and cannot wait to see these new Morgan Three wheelers which are destined to become popular amongst our MTWC Tourers it is no secret that Morgan Motor Co took lots of inspiration from those of us who do serious Touring in our MOGS and I cannot wait to see the extras options to facilitate long distance Touring !

How short-sighted of MMC. In my world of sales, no-one was more important than my customers.

My thought exactly Peter, nobody more VIP than those who are preparing to shell out the cash.

Not sure it's arrogance. Customers that have placed a deposit have in general done that via a dealer. These people, are customers of the dealer. If you'd ordered a new Fiesta would you really expect a VIP invitation to a launch at Ford's HQ? Plus, although MMC do have a new fancy coffee machine it's not that big a one 😀

A press launch is just that to bring a new model to market. Every manufacturer does the same, I applaud Morgan for involving the MTWC Touring Group by asking us to display some of the vehicles we use on our Touring Exploits .By involving the Club/owners I believe they have made a great PR move. We represent all owners.
Anyone who paid a deposit did so through their dealer and was told it would be refunded after driving the demonstrator. That sounds pretty clear to me.
