Excellent olde world pub - thanks guys. Didn’t use the wipers at all courtesy of Rain X rain repellent. Could see the red dust in the water globules on the windscreen. Big hose down and leather before tucking the blue un away. No bed time stories this time ☔️

Yes, I drove my +8 today, unfortunately, for the last time... frown

I‘m fine, the car not so.

I think, the universe does not want me to own a Morgan. Two complete write-off‘s, within two years, with no injury at all, I think that is a clear sign.

Ivo, I am so sorry to read this that is very bad luck and I am just glad you and your passenger were ok.
All the best with whatever you decide to do about another fun car in the future.

Ivo
I also have the distinction of walking away completely unscathed from a written off Morgan.

May I suggest you give yourself some time to reflect on the root course(s) and what if anything could be done differently going forward. For example, was it your fault, a fault within the car, the fault of a third party or perhaps a combination?

Whatever you conclude, the good news is that you are OK

Thank you,

I wanted to drive him warm, to see if everything is OK, for the MOT, tomorrow morning. On a back road, which I drove a hundred times before, in a curve, a lorry, came from the other side. When I saw it, I stepped on the brake, the wheels blocked and I slid into the lorry. Mabe, without braking, everything would have been good. …or worse? Who knows…

In any case, the impact happened at a very low speed and, despite the dramatic looking pictures, the cabin remained intact.
So did I thumbs I even didn’t feel my chest, pushing into the safety belt.

Ivo, Someone posted this on Facebook earlier today and I took the liberty of explaining that the driver was ok as several were fearful of your state of health given the state of the car.

Pleased you are OK. You can buy cars. Replacement people are not so easy to come by.

Very sorry to read this Ivo. As Paul says, other cars are available. Very happy that you are OK - that is the main thing.

I echo the sentiment of others Ivo. I hope you can take my suggestion in the manner it was intended.

Perhaps you could benefit from some advanced driver training...? Yeah I know we all think we are great drivers...ME included.

When I went back to m/cycling some time back after a break of 20 years, I joined the local IAM motorcyclist section, and learned a lot about roadcraft. I also bought the The police m/cyclist training manual.... I suspect there are plenty of other options for training out there other than the IAM.

That Morgans do not have all the safety features of the average mundanemobile, were I to seek education to improve on my driving I suspect it ideally would be in my Morgan, as dependant on the era of Morgan one buys into, they depend more upon driver input than most machines these days..?

Good luck in your choices Ivo... thumbs
