[ I experienced the same symptons, engine randomly cutting out, once just outside the M25 tunnel, and I too learnt that you could carry on by switching the ignition off and then on , without even stopping.
I eventually traced it to a poor pin connection in the 15 pin plug between the chassis loom and the engine loom, found by having the engine running and gently wiggling this plug in a certain direction, then you could hear the ignition relay trip out, so cuting the engine, then it would immediatley restart until another wiggle.
I couldnt imagine a cheaper looking 15 pin plug! Hi Paul, Thanks for your advice ! This could be well the case with my car as well. Will investigate it like you explained. Once more this shows that the experience and knowledge of our forum members outweighs that of MMC 😁

Not sure it's possble in a M3W but I recently fitted an electric pump in mine and added an inertia switch for safety.I mounted it in the cockpit, just under the dash so I can reactive it on the move if it does trip over a bump or similar. I've also wired in a warning light, so I get a visual indicator if it's tripped. Good ideas, thanks. Did you use an MMC Inertia Switch?

Sadly my problems were not over, the engine kept cutting out it
would restart & idle but stop as soon as the revs built up.
I Had the three wheeler towed to a local auto electrician.
the problem was not the immobiliser. It was a loose connection to the 12v side of the coil.
The coil had been mounted so that an oil line was rubbing on it & engine vibration did the rest, loosened the coil connection & bent the female connectors.The coil was repositioned to clear the oil line. Fortunate really as a bolt was also rubbing on the oil line.
Problem solved, not really, the car was still cutting out intermittently. Finally they found the identical problem that PaulR identified, poor pin connection in the 15 pin plug between the chassis & engine looms. Here's hoping!
Incidentally, since I had the the Beazey Cush Drive installed the car is a pleasure to drive. even the large Aussie side mirrors have stopped vibrating.
