My '93 +8 has broken its alternator fan guard. By some miracle, the detached piece lodged behind the alternator rather than dropping into the fan belt and wreaking havoc (the broken-off piece being just over 14 cm long).

Initially I thought I would dispense with the guard entirely, but I note that the fan is depositing a fine dust over the front wing via the bonnet gap. Having researched the provenance of the guard, I believe it to be this:

with one end lopped of at the factory (hence the eventual fracture). I've tried just about every source I can think of (all the usual suspects: Melvyn, Rimmers, Craddock etc) and the part appears to be out of production, with no-one holding any stock. There's currently one rather tired looking example on eBay, but before I move ahead on that, do any of you cognoscenti have any ideas as to where I can get one, please?
