Morning All and Happy Sunday, Have recently fitted some round door mirrors to my 4/4. Driver’s side fine but passenger side is impossible to adjust to give a view of near side. I have received feedback from others stating they have had a similar issue. As there are several manufacturers who produce these perhaps it is a problem unique to my product. Anyway, my question is, my friendly RAC neighbour suggested bending the arm to achieve the correct position but to check with others ergo will it snap etc. Any advice gratefully received. Kingy

You can move the arm up or down - it has preselcted stops built in to the base of the arm where it attaches to the fixing flange - just grab hold of the arm and move it up or down you will see how it works.

Have you tried lowering or raising the arm at the knuckle?
Also some round mirrors have the attachment off centre so can be rotated around the attachment point.
Apart from the factory round mirrors, which are not good, it's rare to hear of adjustment problems.

Does anyone know where I could buy a new mirror base? The actual mirrors seem to be easily purchased but I want a new base bit. Any ideas? Nick

Thanks Richard. Have tried that and via loosening the screw on the back of the mirror to adjust. Alas I am left with a permanent view of cloud formations.

Thanks Dave (The Legend) and wish you lived in Tunbridge Wells. I have had several chums much more talented than me have a try but to no avail.

Kingy On our Roadster the nearside mirror arm is much more upright than the offside, this allows the round mirror to be adjusted to give a perfect view down the nearside of the car from the drivers seat. As DaveW states the mirror arm should rotate at the knuckle where the arm meets the door attachment. I suspect there is a spring that holds the arm in the specific positions. I would post a picture, but haven't mastered that art on here yet. Anyway, hope this helps. Dave

A fellow Morgan owner will help you out Paul when you meet up or drop by at BHM a really helpful crew there. They are a pita to set in the right position initially anyway.
