We rely on our Tomtom and Waze as they both transfer with the vehicle.
Amazingly my ten year old Tomtom still gets free updates - it was a good £90 worth.. Likewise, my Garmin is now 10 years old with continuing free updates. I have just replaced the battery as it was no longer holding charge and its now like new again.

That's good news, I find it encouraging in todays throw away world that these units are still being supported.

The Plus 8 has BMW cruise control, I find I use it often, especially outside Wiltshire.
I also use WAZE as a navigation / speed camera warning device. I am taking my 8 to the Med again in June - cruise control is vital for this long trip. Mostly because it stops me gradually increasing speed to 100mph + on the perfect French road surfaces. I use Waze for 100% of motoring in the UK. Largely for speed camera alerts.

Are Apps like WAZE legal in GB? In Germany it is not allowed to use Apps with speed camera alerts when you are driving..

Yes they are legal as are radar detectors
