Good morning. The below Government Petition is seeking to debate in the Commons the right for motorcycles to use Bus Lanes in every Local Authority. To me this makes a lot of sense to achieve consistency across the UK and to get motorcycles out of the main traffic lanes in town centres reducing risk and congestion. Hopefully you'll agree and sign up too. I am also a motorcyclist and have been for 35 years, 33 years of which as an Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists full Member. Thank you. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/614294
Cheers, Paul

Done - daft being different in different locations, just going to cause frustration and bills. The more we can segment the vulnerable traffic from the phone toting drivers the better. It will interesting to see how they handle the electric bike/scooter situation moving forwards. No helmet (may not be a bad thing given his actions) no road rash protection, speed, pavement, etc etc. The EUC (electric unicycles) are accidents waiting to happen in town. https://youtube.com/shorts/1tyi1D_jVwM

I would sign if I trusted motorcycles to use them sensibly and respect cyclists more.
My experiences in London with the plethora of delivery scooters is less than satisfactory I regret to say.

Last time we were in London the number of idiots on electric scooters of the unregulated type was a nightmare as a driver. They were basically doing what this clown on youtube was.

Signed. It makes sense to standardise the law. It could ( i repeat could) reduce the problems of mixed vehicles in congested areas. They “ filtering” that motorcycles and bicycles employ to weave past stationary traffic is stupid. Last month we were in Cardiff and the Deliveroo type cyclists were a menace. Stupidly speeding through pedestrianised areas, no warnings ( bells don’t exist). As for scooters, well an interesting conundrum. So many have been sold and used despite their being illegal in Public places add in the rental ones being ok, creates a confusion. Almost impossible to police. I think they will either have to be banned completely or allowed. The trouble is the number of idiots who are feckless. I can see motorists being held as responsible for avoiding them despite their stupid use. The attitude vilification of cars as the Devil’s Chariots has always been there from the red flag and walking pace days. Maybe a big tax at purchase to help fund road adaption to provide safe lanes would help ( instead of spurious increasing burdens on car owners as an easy cash cow) GRRRRR
