Everything is in the tittle. The son of my friend wanted to impress his girlfriend and took his father's aero. He went out the road, and all the body has suffered. The front valance, a front wing, the 2 rears wings are battered, and even a wheel is sratched. Any idea where to find parts, except at the factory, of course, and I want to know if it's possible to fit the front wings from other models, like S2 or S3. My friend want the best for his car, but as the son has to pay for the dammages, they have to find the best solution for both.

Ouch, bet son wasn't too popular.

Not aware that there is any other source for wings panels than factory. It might be possible to find some 2nd hand panels; for instance I know that RIchard Thorne used to have an old S1 that was gradually being cannibalised.

S3 wings won't be the same, but S2 might be, though no doubt someone else will post who has better knowledge than I.

Condolences to your friend, but at least his son didn't do himself any harm other than pride.

You might get S2 front and rear wings to fit as the general tub shape is similar - not that they are any cheaper mind.

The only place you can really get body parts is the factory.

Do you have any pictures?

S1 wings are unique - the S2 is wide body the same as the S3 and S4.

You might as said find second hand panels, but given all these cars are hand made there is not guarantee that the wings from another car will be a perfect fit.

I would get the car taken to the factory or a good local dealer / expert (e.g. Millers Motors) for an assessment and some advice. Without seeing it, it is difficult to know..

As said - main thing is everyone is ok. Cars can be fixed.

Ignore this.. it won't apply to a S1..... if you have an S1.. Mr Tony is correct.. they are unique as the S1 has a narrower main tub than the later models

The problem for us is that we are located in Belgium, so, I suppose I will bring the car to England to see what's possible to do.

That's your best bet.... and likely to be the only realistic way of getting it fixed.

The thing to look out for is all the things you cant see from the outside!

send a mail out to all EU dealers, you never know where there's some stock of body-parts laying around

I had to have a new rear wing on my S1 a few years ago (2006)- the total bill was £1220

Before they embark on the costly route to repair this S1, make sure they get it on a ramp to ensure the chassis isn't damaged. If it is, I'd suggest a repair is going to be too costly.

Quite a few Aeros are written off because of minor body damage; without wanting to be the prophet of doom, it doesn't take a lot to make them uneconomical to repair. Aluminium and cost effective repairs, don't go hand in hand.

Other than the factory, UK breakers may have an Aero you can salvage. The problem will be finding the parts you require from an already damaged car. Most write-offs seem to be from a result of front wing and some rear damage; therefore, the parts your friend needs won't be the easiest to find. Wish I could give you some better news.
