I've got a 1980 + 8 The horn is not working so I'd like to track down the horn and see if it's getting power. If it is and no honk I've got a horn that I can hook up and test. But I don't know where the horn is located. I haven't hunted too hard but I haven't seen it yet.

So where is it ?

Below and behind the grille, usually, just ahead of the bottom of the radiator.

Dutch, according to the wiring diagram covering a 1980 +8 there were two horns. The wiring was unconventional though having the horn push switch a live, fused feed, so beware if you need to investigate in this area. There should then be purple/black cables feeding each horn with the other terminals locally grounded.

I have had a few fail. They are easy to replace. As Graham says the horns are on the cowl box just in front of the radiator.

The location of the horns is not ideal.
I had the experience of hitting deep standing water in a railway underpass at about 50 kph. It was like driving under a waterfall with all the water spraying up over the car. I was most impressed that no water came into the car (hood up because of the storm). What I did discover, after a few kilometres, was that my brand new pair of FIAMM horns emitted only a water sodden gurgle. They never fully recovered and I returned to the original single horn plus a matching second horn from the same manufacturer. .
I have fitted them in such a way that they don't act as water scoops laugh

On my 1980 I binned the original, well it fell off and subsequently added a discreet air horn in its place

My son and I found the horn and yes it was dead. I had a Vespa horn laying around that I took off of the GTV when I had it. Hooked it up and it worked so we replaced the Morgan horn. Just had to make up a ground wire. Works just fine. Got a little toot now. :-)
