https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2011-tesla-roadster-auto/SSE-AD-7043841/?Cr=0

So maybe this one is not so overpriced. My main concern is the life of the battery and whether it is even possible to replace. I wouldn't be surprised if the cells used are not the same as wat Tesla use now and replacing/rebuilding the battery might not be easy at all.

Yes, I made the same observation about the 2008 Tesla a few posts up. I had a friend who bought a second-hand Nissan Leaf at auction but quickly discovered that the batteries had expired and the cost of having them replaced was more than the price of a new Nissan Leaf. An expensive mistake.

That was some time ago so hopefully things have moved on, but without knowing I'd consider any second-hand EV a risky purchase especially one of that age.

Shame about the colour, but I do like Beemers of that era as it reminds me of one that used to turn up at our shop in the late 70's to buy oil & filters for his home service, made a lovely change from selling bits for Austin 1100's and HB Viva's doh

I love perusing BaT not only for the market reconnaissance on the cars but the commentary.

This latest offering is a great example if you’re a fan of the “Patina” genre that now frequents the classic car market

No doubt the Buick is a cracking example but it also seems to have drawn its own unique literary following
as evidenced by the auction commentary.

A couple of examples if I may…

I picture God driving something like this on Judgement Day – he’s known to have a sense of humor, ya know.
Nearly too cool for words
.

And this classic,

Perhaps a perfect car. I’d be a bidder but I’d have to make room for it.
I’d have to get rid of three motorcycles, a project pickup, my wife’s sedan and my wife.
I’d miss that pickup
.

An auction worth a look and a read…….
1949 Buick....

This auction has take a somewhat personal turn give that this restoration is referenced to internationally recognised automotive artisan Justin Hills

The comment of May 25 at 5.37am sets the scene
google Justin Hills 49 Buick Sedanette…I bought it about 10 years ago…
still has the straight 8 in it,..but the body lines are to kill for plus I love the sound of that straight 8.

Justin has his work shop a few K's from me and I often drop in to see what's on the "slab"....
This one of the cars that bought his work to the world stage
Justin Hills - Australia
His work is worth a look, especially his XK 120 Jaguar that was so well received in the UK
I followed that build closely
