Interesting Paul, my other two classics that were with them, at renewal this year stated the 10 mile limit, when the Roadster comes through in May it will be interesting to see what that says

We keep our Breakdown and Rescue separate from the car Insurance (all 3 and house and contents with Headley) and pay £107 pa which covers both drivers in any car including if you are only a passenger in somebody else's car it's called Standard & Personal Cover.
It's with LV Britannia Rescue and we called on it about 10 years ago 3 times during one trip across to Cambridge when Heathers GTI crankshaft sensor began to fail on her last car, very good service and for that price I think it's good value and it never increases in price.

Just re-read all my Headley information. The roadside assistance element has a 20 mile limit on taking the car and passengers to a garage. The recovery element takes the car and passengers to a destination of your choice. If you have both, there is no limit.

The stimulus to re-read things came when a chum told me that his Headley renewal paperwork has changed underwriters. The new people don’t offer protected NCB and won’t extend cover to club track days etc without additional charge.

Just spent a few (wasted) hours ringing around insurers for the renewal, bearing in mind that these are recommended in Miscellany to offer Morgan specific policies or are (cough) experts in classic car insurance...

After the tiring round of intrusive questions, declaring the mods, being put on hold, or I've got to run that past the underwriters...bla-bla

One now doesn't offer agreed value on cars under 5yrs old
One said his underwriters think it's a kit car ??
One quoted £5,267 (I respectfully asked if she had misread the decimal point position)
One wants £50 extra each time I do a track event, even if just parade laps !
One imposes lot's of wriggly, weasel word clauses for leaving the hood down or unlocked vehicle

I'm coming to the conclusion that only Gott & Wynne actually know what they are doing

More than happy with Headley but I don't do track days and never put the roof up...

A chum recently received his renewal information from Headley. They have changed underwriters. They no longer offer protected no claims and they no longer offer free track day cover for club events.

Said chum contacted Gott & Wynn to be told a similar story. He went with Adrian Flux.

I have yet to research things myself as my renewal is not due until 1st August.

I’ve just moved to Peter Best with LV’s heritage product for my Roadster. £65 cheaper than Headley at £262. Apparently Headley are increasing their premiums because underwriters have paid out more than they have taken in over the last couple years on Morgans and are losing interest. They have also taken track days out so you now have to pay extra on a day by day basis. Maybe the Plus 6 effect?

I'm with Footman James - can't find anything regarding 'hoods' and there is a published tariff for extras such as Track Days.

I pay £260, but that is with a full A4 list of modifications - everything from tyres, brakes, suspension, engine, interior etc.

I'm with Gott & Wynne and pay £470 for the ARP4, I was told that that if you have a accident on track the excess is 10% of the value of the car.

Interestingly I was going to borrow a Plus 6 from Krazy Horse and had to get my own insurance which is fair enough, however I couldn't get insurance as I'm under 50!

I said that a bit strange as I have a tuned BMW 140 with the same engine and insurance is only £600. I'd like to try one but might have to wait a while haha.
