If I am in a queue on the motorway waiting for a parallel parking enthusiast in lane 3 to finally achieve an overtake and someone performs an undertake I cannot be bothered to report it. However if I am giving the good ladies Mini a run I often get pushed hard by cars behind me to push the car in front. I end up compromising my gap ahead so someone is not encouraged to push into it. If someone looked at my footage it would look like I was riding closer than I would like. I do worry from this situation that in many cases unless the longer footage is provided things can sometime look out of context. I do not mean that to reflect on the OP.

I don't get too worked up these days about the idiots one meets on the road, if they drive up my backside in dense traffic I just gently slow down just enough, if its a lorry up my backside then the wife has on occasion climbed into the backseat to take a well advertised picture of them, which usually stops the tailgating.

Sadly there are often consequences, just not at that time. I feel that jumping red lights, for example, is becoming normalised, as there is usually no consequence for doing so.

Holding people to account in dashcam footage will at least act as a warning to those who think the rules are guidelines, and hopefully curb them before there are worse consequences.

I agree, lack of enforcement of bad practices builds a tolerance. Given the numbers and regime the Police operate under now other means become necessary.

I have seen a few people after they have had the warning letters from the police and it is interesting to watch the reaction after the initial boil-up.

I hope there wasn’t any camera footage of her climbing onto the back seat to take the photo!

That reminds me...I need to fit the extra rear dashcam into the tintop. Probably delay until when the new one arrives ( July?)
I also don’t get worked up over stupid drivers. Pass on footage to police? Not got any that warrants ( no pun intended) it yet.

Here in the US, we solved the lane blocking problem a long time ago. We can overtake or undertake on any open lane as long as it is safe to do so. We also usually don't have separate speed limits for trucks and cars towing trailers or campers.
It's no wonder your traffic crawls along at the speed of the slowest snail!!. I wonder when the UK and others are going to see the light?

I don't use Motorways very much - I find them boring, and other drivers bring out an aggressive side of me that I don't like. However, when needs must I drive in Lane 1. If I meet a slower moving vehicle in Lane 1, I pull into Lane 2 to overtake and then straight back into Lane 1..

Unfortunately, this does mean on numerous occasions I undertake some numbskull bimbling along in Lane 2.

I appreciate that two wrongs do no make a right, but the alternatives are either swinging across two or three lanes to perform an overtake or driving behind them with horn and full beams blaring, forcing the car onto the hard shoulder, pulling them out through the window and punching them to death.

I do exactly the same. If I am doing say 65mph in L1 and go past someone who is doing 60mph in L2 then I don't consider it to be undertaking as I have not made a manoeuvre, I am just continuing to do what I have been doing. I do, however, make sure the hard shoulder is clear when I pass them and keep a close eye on their road position.

It's still illegal and god forbid that the undertaken vehicle moved across and there was a collision causing a death, you would be charged with causing death by careless driving.

Agreed. But probably a lesser sentence than punching them to death.
