Richard, here is an article in the EDP. That powder blue car is a joy to behold, is it a Riley.

I suspect every Morgan will raise interest in a wide variety of locations where most vehicles may not, thus most of us fortunate enough to own a Morgan may just accept that interest from others as part of the fun of ownership, assuming one has a sharing nature..? Quite a few folk mostly kids have been photographed by their parents sitting in my car and vice versa far more regularly than in times past when a camera would be required to capture the scene, but these days everyone has a camera in their phone.. All of which takes me back to a time before the technological juncture of phone and camera, which was brought to mind by recent tales of those fortunate enough to be travelling in foreign parts at the moment, sending me off in search of an associated pic I took circa 2003 while visiting Pompeii. Having arrived early before the site was opened to ease finding a place to park and hopefully avoid the heat of later in the day and the build up of tourists, we found a spot near the front of the the souvenir shop entrance, we were approached by one of the bus drivers in the parking area who shared pics he carried in his bus of the classics he had owned over the years. He could not have been more pleased than when I asked if he wanted to sit in the Mog to have his picture taken.... So if you are ever at that car/bus park in your Morgan and it attracts a bus driver, it might just be Tortora Alfonso... I do not know if Italians put their surname first, so his "Christian" name may be Alfonso.. Whatever.. I just thought to post the pic I took at the time, though like me, I suspect he may not look quite as he did back then.. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/05/Tortora-Alfonso.jpg) He really looks at home in your Morgan, Luddite. Almost as if he's about to zoom off into the sunset. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Quicksilver, it seems everyone who sits in a Morgan can feel very comfortable, till they hit the first pot hole...? Nick, the case came with my Morgan as during it`s nut and bolt rebuild circa Y2K it was configured as a tourer with trays built into the shelf over the axle and a larger tool box mounted on the bulkhead. The lockable case was created in fibreglass, lined with leather matching the trim of the Mog`s interior, it could be mounted to the rack with stainless P clips to deter anyone from making off with it when occasionally left in car parks in foreign parts, though fully loaded, being painted and polished to match the Mog and with Morgan script, it was less than fun to negotiate around hotel corridors etc. etc. etc. when younger, these days I would think best to have a fitted soft bag to fit inside it thus easier to remove and carry wherever.. Richard, lovely Riley in the article, seems various shades of blue are very on trend these days, and causes me to wonder if the colour was original to the car...if so I suspect it would have stood out amongst others in it`s day as it seems to have done during the celebrations..Thanks for posting.

Yes Richard I agree having seen this tiny engined 1933 Singer arrive. ![[Linked Image]](https://images.cm.archant.co.uk/resource/image/9016402/landscape_ratio16x9/987/555/96035b41469439e3e164abfff30cd99/nN/cb-sandringham-pageant-1.jpg) A recent re-spray maybe from its registered red colour

Well I have one in m office. It was my Mum's 21st birthday present as she ran her own dressmaking company. The same body of the machine but an EV (electric powered) and housed in a french polished table my father renovated just before he died. I couldn't part with it.

The adaption of the sewing machine is a work of art indeed..Nice story too John, I should part with my Morgan but never seem to manage to get round to it.. I suspect the "Singers" white wires and red brake drums also suit modern tastes ..? Oh well at least someone is enjoying looking after it and making use of it in the process.. When younger I might have done the same sort of stuff myself, but as I aged I began to favour patina just a tad more than prefect finishes... up to a point. Back on topic.. Given the weather enjoyed here of late I fired up the old Mog and took it a run round the block on my usual interesting route. I only managed circa 600 miles in it last year with a couple of jaunts in between then and now, but it fired up first time and ran as well as it ever did It still feels as vintage as I wanted it to be when I bought it, but not so vintage that it can not feel and sound like a race car, if one decides to indulge in a rapid overtake... I guess in truth I feel more vintage than the Morgan.. Just pleased to be able to still get in and out of it and enjoy an occasional run in the sun...
