Anyone know how this top leather piece is held on. I'm hoping it's not from underneath?

I think its just held in with a couple of fir tree clips about halfway along

- gently lever out the leather pad* which has (as Simon says) one / a couple of 'fir tree' fixing(s).

*N.B. put some masking tape on the metal and use a plastic/nylon lever if possible.

The engine turned metal, bottom half is then simply fixed with a couple of (wood ?!) screws as, I recall.

It is held in by fir tree clips as Simon said and I used the technique James described but it was proving difficult as one of the clips had gone AWOL at some stage in the past and someone had added Velcro which made it a tad hard to remove but hopefully you won’t have that issue😁

Thank you Simon and Kevin - I'm orry I was not extremely clear. I need to refix the turned metal piece with arm rest it has worked loose from underneath. The whole turned metal piece is lifted at the front. It's rattling on bumpy roads driving me mad..... Do I pull off the leather with fir clips and get access that way or do I go from underneath on a ramp?

The whole turned metal part is held in with a couple of screws which are under the padded leather part. You don’t remove anything from underneath. Under the metal is a resin shape with a separate piece for holding in the circuit board for the tpms system.

After the pad is taken off as described by James you’ll see the two screws holding in the turned metal part. That was how mine was fixed when I removed it to send it to Simon to get a new turned metal unit fabricated.
