Had a very enjoyable bank holiday weekend - Thursday drove from Rushden to Worcester to see the folks, then on to my old stomping ground of Tregaron to stay with friends. Friday drove to Pembrokeshire - as I left Tregaron I decided to have a detour through my old University town of Lampeter - by pure fate I stopped at the pedestrian crossing in Lampeter just as my friend (and Tattooist) Mel was crossing. Not seen her for 5 years, and she lives in Upton on Severn! Had a very lovely catch up.

Off then down to Pembroke to take in Castell Henllys and a few Portal Dolmens and then on to Carmarthen for an evening meal and then to a fabulous little B&B in Llanarthne. Saturday up and off to the Botanical Gardens, and then early afternoon off for a cross country trek over to Burford.

Another nice B&B and a meal with friends, and then Sunday over to the Classic Motor Hub for their Best of British. Met John Winn and had a good natter. Finally a drive back to Rushden. About 600 miles in total, and the old girl ran perfectly smile

Over a hundred miles to Finchingfield for an ice cream & then lunch in Halstead. Great fun on the twisties on the Essex Suffolk border. Following Hawkis Plus Four it was clear the handling out strips Belle but Belle can keep up as was Bertie.

On the way back after Sudbury I got behing this Alvis 16.95 First registered 4/3/1930 it too was no slouch & happliy chugged along at 60 plus.

So Day 22 and another 280 miles today. Left Matera early to beat the heat and now just south of Rome. So that’s 2200 miles and just over €1000 in fuel

Today the journey from Aboyne over the Grampians to Fort Augustus. The roads were much quieter than I expected, and it's an amazing experience every time.
Had to put the roof up just south of Inverness, the first rain we've seen since leaving home.

DAY23. Another 224 miles today in a little cooler weather - 28c. Up the coast to the hills above Pisa. It’s back to France tomorrow.

Test run with Mrs co pilot on board to calibrate the recently fitted cruise & speed limiter, main issue is finding a flat legal 50+ mph road in our area

Yes, (I think your pro installer took a day ?) I'm not a pro sparky & it took me 9hrs spread over 3 days because I'm very picky on quality & everything is soldered & sleeved, first test drive was very disappointing as it wouldn't programme, It had been a waste of time linking to CanBus

So...had to swop control brain to analogue mode, strip out all the canbus wiring, fit brake sw link, fit a dedicated GPS speed feed, another 5hrs and finally works, just need to fine tune the Init throttle takeup, which looks a bit complex, so I'm going to go to Curborough this weekend and give it a proper long test on the A38 flag

I even managed to get the control stalk on the left by moulding the steering column cowl to shape as it's thermoplastic
