Hello all,
As my front end rebuild is drawing to a close, it was time to rebuild my front brakes. All stripped, cleaned, new seals, pistons, O-rings, painted (blue caliper paint on inside, G2 black on outside).
Does anyone know the correct torque values for the bolts that connect the caliper halves on a set of Girling 14s? I saw a video on YT rebuilding a pair of Girling 16s and the guy said he was taught the outer 9/16 bolts get 40 ft-lbs, and the the inner 5/8 bolts get 70 ft-lbs.
Seemed reasonable so that’s what I did. But advice from anyone who’s done this would be appreciated.
Also, any suggestions on how much to torque the brake lines going into the calipers? I’ve put on fresh copper crush washers.
Thanks.
