Peter would an option for your condo be to "outsource" the issue.
Get a public charging company to install the units. This would mean the installation, insurance, billing would all be sorted for you. Of course it means someone is taking a profit but at least you have someone to maintain and deal with issues so there are no fights?

I don't know about Italy, but in the UK PodPoint (and probably others too) offer this service. Billing is all done through smartphone apps so no worries about allocation. You can even do stuff like having different charging rates for different users so you can have cheaper for residents, more expensive for visitors etc.

You'd have no difficulty finding somewhere to charge your EV where I live, the council have just installed rows and rows of them. I've yet to see anyone using one though. The only person I know with an EV, a Porsche Taycan sport tourismo which was £100k, bought it for the tax break. He saves £20k on his income tax at the same time as the car has increased in value. We live slap bang in the center of the country where all our electric is coming from fossil fuels so no real eco advantage at all. So what you are saying is that a person who can afford a £100 K vehicle and can afford to pay an accountant to minimise his tax is being subsidised by the general taxpayer who has little opportunity to reduce his tax and even less opportunity to buy a £100 K BEV. Hmmmm!

What is even more impressive is that his 'employer' pays his fuel costs, so his electric bill is being paid for him...............! I'm not sure he can be blamed for the way it's all worked out..........BUT.! The gap between the have's and have nots is certainly going to widen over the coming months........

We live slap bang in the center of the country where all our electric is coming from fossil fuels so no real eco advantage at all. It doesn't quite work like that. The vast majority of power stations including the big wind and solar farms, are directly connected to the Transmission Network, the high voltage spine part of the national grid that links everywhere. That power is then transformed down to 440/240V where it connects to the 9 or so Distribution Networks which take the power to houses. So the power where you live is exactly the same mix of renewables, nuclear, and fossil power as everywhere else in the UK. which on average over the year is roughly 40% fossil, 30% renewables, 30% Other (nukes etc).

This came into effect from March this year - as it's still only £70 pm standing order I don't mind, they chose to move me to a cheaper tariff again this year but gone green as well it seems, I'm not fussed either way tbh. I willingly spend at least twice that amount pm on E5 for the enjoyment of my Plus 8 Charges were £50pm prior to this and last year it was £27pm, like all other suppliers there has been a financial fart and we are all trapped in the fallout, as unpleasant as it is. So the power where you live is exactly the same mix of renewables, nuclear, and fossil power as everywhere else in the UK. which on average over the year is roughly 40% fossil, 30% renewables, 30% Other (nukes etc). So how do some energy suppliers say that they are Green? The suppliers have to essentially do two things: 1. Figure out how much electricity their customers have used and bill them for it 2. Purchase the correct amount of electricity on the wholesale energy market to cover that amount Each generating company will sell their electricity on the wholesale market, each type of electricity has a different price, that price being driven by supply and demand factors. A 'deep green' supply company like Ecotricity will only ever buy renewable power on the market. As a result, when supply is short then prices get very high - which is why their power is very expensive, I pay 40p/KWh. Other less committed green suppliers will have a policy of buying renewable power when they can, but will buy nuclear and even fossil sourced power when they have to. The actual energy mix will be on your bill. In theory, as more and more people demand green energy, the demand for it will encourage more generating companies to provide it, and advances in technology will reduce the production cost - which is why we are seeing the development of huge offshore wind farms to provide it. So the role of fossil generation will fade away in response to customer demand and government incentives. Because we are still extremely dependent on natural gas (this is way over 90% of all our fossil generation), the wholesale price of gas is a very strong driver of the average wholesale price, which is why we are seeing generally increasing prices for the consumer as gas becomes harder to get hold of. Electricity prices on the wholesale market vary on a half-hourly level. Prices for power in high-demand periods reach truly astronomic levels at times, which is why wise supply companies buy power ahead of time to hedge their risk of exposure to fluctuating prices. Often months or seasons ahead. Obvs the earlier you buy it the cheaper it is as it gives the generators security of supply, their 'order books' are filled up. Cheapskate energy suppliers have not bothered to do this, depending instead on generally low prices for wholesale power, which is why loads of them went bust when the prices went up and they hadn't got supply contracts already in place.

Sounds like we're trying to be more European and not take everything the government throw at us lying down. I think I read somewhere that protests in France, Italy and Spain have prevented further fuel price increases? Haven't seen or heard of any protests down here. Just a very quick scan of google gave me details Yellow Vest fuel protests in Nov 2018, Dec 2018, Oct 2021 and March 2022...... Some even resulted in deaths. Censorship must be very good in France! Fuel Protests in France, Italy and SpainSo you're reporting protests from three and a half years ago to three months ago representing a complete range of grievances and then rolling them all together as a cost of living crisis now? Are you a journalist from one of the red tops?
