Don't know for sure but try this as I'm a Plus 8 man but that level of general rust looks pretty advanced imho. Loads of Roadster owners on here so someone will pop up in a minute. My 23 year old car doesn't have a trace of it but had only covered 18,000 miles when I got it and now she is up to 37,000 miles used all year round by me for 8 years but never on salted roads. So I'm thinking yours must be an all weather high miler. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/06/17/MBH0675_1.jpg) Sorry, I didn't see this picture yesterday, and that part is identical. That outlet with the white cap is attached to a tube that goes to a little reservoir with Lockheed on it. I just assumed Lockheed had something to do with brakes. That red bit on the end must be a plug as another hose is screwed onto this end. I've been under this morning treating the rust and it isn't as bad as what the photo suggests once a good scrub and painting of rust converter. It did give me a chance to have a look around in detail when under and have discovered a slight leak from the gearbox drain plug. Bit more ptfe tape me thinks. I also found an electrical lead whilst looking at the gearbox that wasn't attached to anything. Photo to follow. That will be the clutch slave cylinder feed - the red bung replacement end that is. A Roadster owner will put you right on the plug/socket. It's not unusual to find odd spare electrical feeds around a Morgan as I understand it one loom is used to cover all the options, so some will be unused. Thanks rich. My initial thought was yours with the extra electrical feeds, but I'm pretty sure it's independant of anything else and connects direct into the top of the box. Almost like it's there for diagnostic purposes. I'm just curious.

Thanks rich. My initial thought was yours with the extra electrical feeds, but I'm pretty sure it's independant of anything else and connects direct into the top of the box. Almost like it's there for diagnostic purposes. I'm just curious.
Picture not very clear Leroy, but If it's a connector on the gearbox rather than the Morgan loom then it could be an unused speed or gear selection signal. If it's the loom then there are two reversing light plugs wired in parallel, to suit different gearbox's I assume. The smaller green moulded connector is used on 2006 Roadster's.

Better image ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/06/17/IMG-20220617-WA0003.jpg) Clutch master cylinder, looking at the surface corrosion it needs a good clean up and spray with ACF50 or the like, also do the servo above, beware that the banjo bolt at the end may well shear off if you have to change it as that's in pretty bad nick too Oh, and spray those starter motor bolts, and brush some grease along that rigid brake pipe to stem corrosion

This is where an oily rag finish is superior to clean, dry but open to corrosion.

Great advice guys as usual. I'm all about prevention rather than cure. I also don't mind the oily rag finish, as long as its out of sight 😁

Been under again today to top up some waxoyl and to put a bit more rust converter on and that electrical connection is definitely independant from the loom. There is another sensor bolted in which connects to the loom. So this must just be a redundant one for a purpose that's not needed. I wonder why they just didn't fit something to blank it off or even cut off the wire. It's pretty inaccessible where it enters the gearbox 🤷♂️
