I have fitted a dash top mirror to my 96 4/4, I am now left with a button glued to the windscreen that held the old mirror. I have tried heating with hairdryer, acetone and nitro Mors all of which haven't worked. I am reluctant to get the blow lamp out. Has anyone removed one of these, I have tried a local windscreen replacement company who only replaced mirrors as part of replacing the windscreen. Many thanks. Paul.

Try a razor blade between the button and the screen

Just put the mirror back on and drive around. It will fall off in your lap sooner or later....well, that's what mine did anyway! smile

It won't - Sods law dictates that it will fall face down on the gear knob thus breaking the glass. I speak from experience.

I used dental floss to remove a badge stuck on to a vehicles bodywork but went through loads as it kept fraying and snapping. Thin fishing line would be a better way.
