Beautiful picture, have a good trip. The musée national de l'automobile in Mulhouse is fantastic, you will not regret your visit.
The weather at Le Mans will be fine next week-end. I'll be there on the Morgan Club de France location but sadly Vinmog location has been moved further at "Garage vert" turn by the organisation.See locations here : Club locations Maps

Thanks Jacque. We are certainly looking forward to the musée national de l'automobile, my second visit but a first for the others, and to crossing France on a scenic route rather than via the Péages. And yes our Vinmog "garage" has moved but we will call on Morgan Club de France. There seem to be an amazing number of clubs attending this year.

We're reporting in from the Bristol Hotel in Mulhouse which means we've survived the train trip and the Klausen Pass. I'll let the pics tell the story.

The start line at Flanagans (in the background). A strange feeling to begin a journey after an evening meal with loved ones. Surely great journeys should start as the sun rises? But this was driven by train schedules. It's also interesting to drive classic cars into the centre of the city on an evening when the bars and cafés are open and the young and carefree are on the streets.

Loaded. The cars, not the owners.

Being Covid conscious we had all had our booster shots. And just to be certain I filled a flask with booster shots and we took them before boarding.

There is a weather phenomenon unique to the Swiss Alps and it is known as Klausen Cloud. We experienced it in 2018 and again this year. The clouds going up and the clouds going down are quite different but really, what a wonderful drive.

Tomorrow we will be at the Musée National de L`Automobile and will then drive 350 km to dinner somewhere in the Parc Naturel Regional du Morvan. And now, sleep.

Travel safe.

If you have time, the Resistance Museum in the Morvan forest is well worth a visit.

Paul is right, well worth a visit (we were there last Sunday) - it includes the story of the SAS regiment who were in the Morvan supporting the Maquis, Ian Welland’s book on the subject is worth a read if you can find a copy.

Where will you be eating? The Beausite in Moux en Morvan and the Auberge Ensoleille in Dun le Places are both good if you’ve not already booked.

Thank you all for the tips, both cultural and cuisine. We would have loved to visit the museum to the Resistance but dallied too long in the museum to the automobile. We had superb run from Mulhouse to Chateau-Chinon. No that’s inadequate; a drive full of superlatives. This part of France is unfamiliar to me but our Maquisard (Nico) knew what he was doing when he planned this. I’ll just mention the final two hours of what was an 8.5 hour drive, including fuel and water stops plus a pit stop to tighten the fan on Malcolm’s TR motor. His route took us through the Parc Naturel and I’m convinced France employed former race drivers to design the roads. So few cars, so many corners.

After dragging ourselves away from the Museum and failing to release some Bugatti into the wild..

Through the Parc..

To Chateau Chaligny where we arrived rather late, which is why I am posting this on the morning after, but were treated to a superb meal.

Today we drive on, about 300 km, to our accommodation in the town of Chateau du Loir and Friday we will be at LMC for the 0830 track laps.
