60 miles today to visit the seaside town of Aldeburgh, whilst we grappled with the pay n display machine, didn't have the app or correct change, a very kind local couple paid for us because "we like your car" smile

The MOG 50 event in Luray concluded yesterday. There were 48 cars registered, and a good time was had by all. My old girl did about 250 miles over the weekend without a misfire. Not too shabby given the midsummer Mid-Atlantic heat and the five years of nearly zero miles. I managed to knock off a little rust of my own, shaving 14 seconds off of my first run in the autocross. It was the first time I’ve had the throttle of that car in the fun zone for about 40 years. Fortunately, it is a bit like riding a bicycle. Here are a few more photos from the weekend.

I was very interested in the design of the hood on the red +8 in the previous post. The sides and windows are on a zip-out section. Functionally, the hood then acts as the Bimini top on a boat. Full breeze, with sun protection. It was a very clever design that I hope to replicate on my car as a defence against the Florida sun.

That looks like a great event with some fine cars.

More locally, after a couple of days doing chores (cleverly coinciding with a couple of days of rain of Biblical proportions here) I took her out for a longer shakedown run ... heaps of fun behind the aeroscreens ... waiting to pull out of a side road and got my first thumbs-up and toot ... from a yoof in an Escort, so hopefully a distantly future Morgan owner when he grows up !! 😁

Here are some more photos of the Devin-bodied one-off. It was built on a +4 chassis that was converted to a Ford 1600.

Drove down to Dover yesterday ahead of the OxMog Strasbourg Sashay. Sadly as we checked into the Premier Inn at 18:00 we found out the MIL had collapsed in her hallway. She was number 400 in the queue for an ambulance so we raced back to Felixstowe. SWMBO got to her flat around midnight after navigating the A12 closures just as the para medics arrived.

Sometimes life stops play alas.

Belle though ran superbly and the cruise control was very helpful. The LED headlights made night driving a dream.

Sorry to read this John, I hope your MIL is not injured and that you can rejoin the team a little later on.
