One of my last construction jobs was an insurance call centre, massive place with space for over 1000 bums on seats, they subbed to numerous well known insurance providers, when you dial in the call handler gets a screen refresh based on who you think you are calling, with relevant spiel all ready, very clever.

The staff facilities and break out areas were top spec and very spacious, they certainly looked after the employees

I've been with them for a similar period and until they were taken over always received good service. Out of interest did your premium increase?


No increase in premium, just total incompetence over the renewal.
It eventually took three phone calls to them to get an email confirming that they had received my payment and I was covered.

Also, their parent company (Finch) have a Whatsapp based online help. I messaged them, but they have not even been looking at their messages!!

OK, I had lost sight that my renewal was due, but their renewal letter arrived literally less than 24 hours before the policy expired.
The implications of this are quite disturbing.
I will not be using Headley in future and (based on conversations) will probably put future business with Gott and Wynn.

I was with Headley for many years before moving here, I hadn’t realised they’d been bought by Finch.

I came across Finch through my old UK business (car transporters), but it wouldn’t be appropriate to share my views on a public forum.

As Headley have sent competitive quotes for the house and contents plus two of our cars in a timely fashion, all post Finch I hasten to add, I shall be very interested to see when the Plus 8 quote arrives as it is due later this month.

I will update as and when they send it, I expect good service after 18 years with them and hope they don't disappoint this month.

Well the invitation to renew arrived in the post this morning for £240:70 Fully Comp with 5,000 annual limit, so happy with that, it's a reduction from last year.
This is a week before expiry so fair enough.

A shout for Gott & Wynne from me.

Spoke to them today about insurance cover for the Isle of Man Festival in September.

I wanted to check the insurance status as some of it involves closed road runs and a couple of track sessions.

G&W were completely up to speed, they already knew the itinerary and were able to confirm immediately that they had extended my cover to include all the closed road and track runs at no extra cost. Although as normal, the excess increases to 10%.

My insurance premium has always been competitive and G&W have always been very responsive and helpful.

I wouldn't go any where else. BTW, I do not have shares in G&W

Thanks Alan, luck of the draw I think. I never got a reply to the direct email (to Finch) I wrote you and Alistair about, so I still don't know if that had an effect or not.

I have posted on the Three Wheeler forum that after a considerable amount of chasing, I finally received my renewal package from Finch, just 5 days from renewal date - inertia marketing?. Completely unacceptable reduction in coverage for me from a 12 month green card to a 30 day limitation of EU coverage per annum. I think they have done a piss poor job on the renewal negations. As a retired Lloyds Insurance broker and underwriter, I well know how the system works. You get a good well run broker, who is taken over by a bunch of money grabbling dorks and they first thing they attack is customer service.

I have now sent quote requests off to Gott and Wynne plus MSM but time is tight for me with my M3W (and me) currently in France. I let Finch know my displeasure in springing the reduction in coverage on me with just 5 days grace - bastards!

After the series of 3.7Roadster and Plus Six write offs would you blame them grin2
Just a thought.

They sorted out the Plus 8 for £240 this month so it worked for me, a considerable reduction from last year as they have moved from Hiscox to ERS with the same terms.
We have our other two cars + house and contents with them, so if they do slip they loose the lot.

I've been chasing Headley/Finch insurance because my car does not appear as insured on the Motor Insurance Database since 5th October. I have now recieved a DVLA fine for £100 because of this.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you get one refuting this by going through the dispute process?
