I used axle stands on the chassis rails. One in each corner, just in front of the rear bumper mounts, and then a back up pair, again on the chassis rails, in front of the rear wheels.
To physically 'jack up' the car, I usually stick the jack on the chassis rail. Not had any issues, and I've jacked mine up a lot in the last few months (new wheels and tyres, broken rear axle stud, new front brakes, new rear springs etc)

Hi DaveW, this looks excellent, please can you confirm what tyres you're running here? Thanks, Dave

So, following this thread, should I be concerned about leaf springs on a 2003 +8, 90,000 miles, and what would I be looking for if they need changing? Crashes about a bit over the bumps, but mostly rebound spring chatter( I think?). I replaced the original rear dampers with competition adjustable Spax, and fitted a Panhard rod. Rear looks level to me, although sometimes my specs are askew 💁♂️. Drives like I expect, and havent noted any broken springs, and am satisfied theyre greased up ok- no squeaking mostly. Thanks in advance (keeping the grey matter oiled with longhand😄) Phil

Those are 185/70s on standard 4/4 wires.

Are 4/4 wires different to the wires on my 2012 Plus 4 The difference is in rim widths. Standard 4/4 wires are 5" rims and originally came with 165 section tyres but you can go up to 185. +4's AIUI usually have 5.5" rims with 185 section tyres on, but you can go up to 195. I have seen +4s with 6" rims (max tyre 205) but I can't imagine they'd be very pleasant to drive. The important limiting factor is tyre clearance against the main spring.

Excellent, so it looks like I'll have 5.5" rims on my 2012 Plus 4 then, they're currently shod with 195/60 R15 which I feel detract from delivering optimal steeribg feel and leave the car looking way too archy, ideally I'd like to go with 185/80 R15. Vredestein Sprint Classics are available in this size but like all the classic tyres they're rediciously expensive and I'd actually prefer a modern tread patern for better water dispersion, such options in this size are very limited as most are van tyres so far from ideal for a light weight Morgan. Dispite their Chinese origins I'm tempted to try a set of Hifly HF201 185/80R15 93T, while this is a budget tyre I'm yet to be convinced they won't perform just as well and maybe even better in some respects than one of the silly expensive classic specific tyre options from Dunlop/Goodyear/Vredestein etc https://www.vintagetyres.com/shop/hifly-hf201-185-80r15-93t![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/R6cByDq/Hifly-HF201-185-80-R15-93-T.jpg) Another cost effective option would be to go with a set of Vredestein t-trac 2 165/80r15 but I do feel a 165 section tyre is quite skinny, and a 185/80 is over an inch taller than a 165/80 which I prefer.
