Just got home from a tour of Ireland. We sailed to Belfast on Saturday 2nd July and returned from Dublin to Holyhead today. A total of 1406 miles and 3 ferries. The car went very well although some Irish roads proved a little challenging. Parts of the Ring of Kerry felt like a perpetual string of speed bumps. A grand tour with spectacular scenery, good food and good hotels. The Stena ferries in both directions were clean, comfortable and punctual. And this afternoon we got a free upgrade to the Stena Plus lounge.

Picture shows the car at Dublin ferry terminal this afternoon. Mrs F seems pleased to be returning home.

We are back a couple of weeks having done a similar trip out via Belfast back via Dublin. I hope you enjoyed better weather, it poured for most of our trip. Not that we really noticed as it was the first opportunity post Covid to visit friends and family in Ireland for over 2 years. All being well, back at Xmas for a Dublin family get together, hopefully fingers crossed with our NZ branch up for the occasion.

Last did the Ring of Kerry when I was I guess 7 or 8 with my aunt driving a Ford Popular we had hireed. Sounds like the roads have not improved.

Just a trip out for the MOT today. Naturally a 45 minute blast to get her nice and hot to help with the emissions, as last time it was bang on the upper limit. Hopefully the hot engine and new plugs will see her comfortably through within the limits.

Glad you had a good time on the Emerald Isle - the Ring of Kerry is fabulous on a good day.

Sailed through again, although I didn't get a printout showing the emissions test so can't determine what effect my spirited driving beforehand has had.
Worrying though, in my journey home, I noticed the MIL had come in. I hunted for the obd2 port as it was difficult to locate, and when I tested it, it showed an error code of p0174, which is too lean a mixture. I ideas if this could have been caused by the garage? It was a Ford main dealership.

It is indeed. And the Ring of Kerry is the perfect driving environment for a Morgan. Wish I could take a trip like that in my Roadster. But my wife would insist on the hood being up the whole trip swmbo
