Just off to a small classic car show in Norfolk today and noticed the play in the steering may be a bit much. I have a Gemmer steering box in my '74 4/4 and 2 1/4" play at the rim of my 14" wheel. Is this too much and if so can this be reduced?

I've just read up on the Gemmer box on GoMog. Seems that play increases with steering angle and I was measuring on a turn. Play is negligible at zero steering angle. So false alarm.
