At 4.30 today the Speedster will be collected for the final time. I’ve been driving Morgans for 20 years - the first a Kent 4/4 4 str, then I developed a Sigma 4/4 into a Competition version and finally the Speedster.

I have enjoyed driving and owning them all.

But it is time for a change. I realise that I can’t “ replace” the Morgan experience- so I’ve gone for something quite different.

I collect my Porsche 981 Spyder next week. I thoroughly enjoyed driving it- the 3.8 flat 6 clearly nothing like the rumbling V8- but sounded great in a different way as I went through the gears.( It’s a manual)

I have very much enjoyed being involved in this forum- and I hope you all won’t mind me lurking about despite not being an owner anymore!

I may return to the marque one day. Enjoy your Morgans!!

Wishing you all the best with your new motor.
We'll expect you to "lurk" on TM and report on how things are working out.👍

I too have circa 20 years of Morgan ownership, however I have stuck with the same one in the shape of my mid 80`s +8.

I had perhaps a decade or more of old Porsches in the air cooled era, and have now owned my 991.1 for a year. This Porsche is blisteringly quick as is the flappy paddle PDK gearchange, it`s handling is computer game like and it`s body curves and wide rear end are very attractive to me..(-: We went for a very enjoyable 170 mile run round the lochs and glens yesterday. A run I have often enjoyed in my Morgan and in the past on m/cycles, all three very different and enjoyable experiences.

Someone much wiser than I determined that variety is the spice of life, I have little doubt your 981 will add a bit of variety to your enjoyment of motoring by spicing things up a bit..ENJOY thumbs

Seems they still put up with me here to some degree, despite my inability to be faithful given my CARsonova tendancies... smile

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

In the 39 years I have owned my +8 I have also had a 964 Carrera 2 and my current 996 Turbo. Both different driving experiences, but just nothing beats a +8.

And a few others
