How do you fold your hood ?
This is not a problem I have ever encountered. I have had badly placed luggage cause an issue - I always check the belts now when I am loading up for a trip. Ive tried a couple of ways Paul but I always seem to have it rubbing. I have a nice cover for it but when its popped up its doesnt pull it out of the way. I probably need to adjust where the poppers, pop ! I dont think it helps that the webbing feeds through the guide loop at an acute angle too. Combined with a not particularly strong spring and its slow to retract

How do you fold your hood ?

I fold the hood in the normal way but the hood material attached to the frame immediately above the rear window folds forward an rests on top of the now folded window. I could detach the hood and fold it under the window but the belt webbing still rubs against the window.

I tuck the “spare” hood material into the hood window part. I don’t know if the hood cover might be the problem - although when I use my tonneau cover I don’t have an issue. Worth reviewing the guidance from Phil at Allon White that describes the best option. https://youtu.be/bfqxH_i-gLwAnd yes - the recoil spring is not strong.

Perhaps you could lay a cane across the car on top of the wheelarches to support the folded hood?

Nick So simple, but genius. It works. Although I didn't use a cane, but tried it with an old broom handle. I think a new handle coated in Danish oil an secured with velcro is my next mod. The only slight downside is it does tighten the curve of the window, but still not enough to cause it to pinch.
