I cannot get my headrests to slide all the way into the seat backs. There is a gap of an inch or so. It is not stiffness - we have used WD40 liberally. Is there something in the sleeve that we need to remove?

If it's your Roadster, you need to give it some more wellie, then the problem is removing them - where you heave & tug and it flies into the air and pings off your lovely paintwork

I don't think they go right in my 2013 + 4 are the same.

They go all the way in on my 2009 Roadster.

I have just taken delivery of a pair of Allon White neck rolls, and the headrests need to be tight to the top of the seat to stop them from moving around.

Mine have never gone all the way in - not on my 2013 or 2020 Roadster. I think they are meant to protrude a couple of inches. My problem is also removing them - almost impossible.

You need to shorten the rod a little less than the current height. Then don't forget to flatten the stem and polish the trimmings well.

The previous advice to give it more welly sounds about right -- to get mine to insert the last inch requires quite a good whack with the flat of my hand (in best Will Smith style....). Phil at Allon White can probably give you a more technical explanation. Not sure where those flattened tubes came from originally, but I had the exact same headrest setup in all of my TVR M-Series and S-Series, so I'm guessing they have been around for at least 4 decades. (The TVR's had a different method of finishing the leather seatbacks, which meant it was easy to get your hand "up there" to figure where all the bits fitted).

That may well be the answer. I will see if I can borrow a Dremel tomorrow.

I think the frames were originally fitted to MGBs or similar in the '60's. I wish they worked and actually ended up a little closer to the back of the head, so you didn't need neck rolls.
