Who would have thought that it was “alive” Top pic is the centre board bottom pic rear board. In fact the centre board cleaned up well & 5 coats of Cuprinol. Rear was absolutely “shot” Fwd board is fine. Have replaced rear with Accoya ( https://www.accoya.com/uk/) When I get a min I’ll post how.

Have they missed their preservative treatment!!? ..... my '75 ones were sound as a pound .... during the rebuild I just gave them a brush over with some old fashioned creosote and bolted them back in.
You've got a complete ecosystem there!🙂

Mine were rotten as well. 2008 Roadster. Replaced with an aluminium panel.

I wonder if it is because creosote is no longer used in treatment processes. You can still buy it but pre-treated wood uses modern stuff - and therefore rots very quickly.

I know chromium dioxide which is green was banned as I worked for elementis who were a leading supplier of chromium for wood treatment
