Yes that's the one -- surprisingly good reception between Bergen and Dale where we visited textile mills. He used it mostly for calls to Head Office in California (my guess is he must have had a "reverse charges" facility). Happy days !

Most mainstream new cars have had Telematics since around 2016.

Toyota made it quite clear when I bought my Auris in their T's & C's that they would pass on the cars data to the Police should they request it.

If your car has any form of an emergency button in case of break down or accident, then more than likely you have Telematics already.

I can sell you some tinfoil should you require it wink

I was quite amused to discover my Mini has a SIM card in both the roof and under the chassis, so it can still call for help if it's upside down in a ditch.
