The comments made by the not so clever Derek is beyond funny. He stated in the last show that the MG Metro would only need about £500 spending on it and it will make good money. It needed over £400 just for tyres alone. Not an Auction house I would buy from.
My attitude is the polar opposite. I enjoy watching Derek and I agree he can display some strange prejudices. However, that seems to me to be more a problem for a vendor than a purchaser. As long as I'd done my full homework I'd be more than happy to buy a car from Mathewsons, but I wouldn't sell one there.
There was one show of B&C in which one of the sons Paul, stated he has never seen a classic (referring to a Morgan which he was inspecting) having 3 wiper blades? He obviously shows little interest in cars, and hasn’t paid much attention to E-types either.
I remember that. The very next shot was of an E-type being backed into the showroom, its 3 wipers in full view!
