Now I'm running about in the car it's time to sort out some practicalities.

I have a scuttle-mounted mirror that satisfies my legal duty to be able to see behind me ... but it's a bit limited (and will be more so when the hood appears)

I have some less than lovely rectangular-ish mirrors that came with the car but never drilled the doors to fit them as they don't appeal over-much.

Would prefer some round mirrors and preferrably in stainless.

So I'm appealing to the gathered wisdom for suggestions .... flat, convex, fixed, extendable, door/scuttle mounted, best price sources etc etc.... any ideas gratefully condidered.

I seem to remember someone mounting mirrors to the windscreen brackets (possibly one of our American members??) ... how did that work out?

Many Thanks

K

The mirrors that came with the car ... made by 'Wingard' ... now there's a blast from the past! 🙂

Hi
I would definitely recommend the Librand convex mirrors- both wing and rear view versions. I have switched all of mine across and the impact is significant on reversing into the garage or overtaking

I have had round mirrors from John Taylor www.morganhoods.com on all my 4 Morgan’s - a huge improvement on the standard - makes the passenger side one actually useful!!!!!!

Cheers!

I agree...Tarka has them and the two door mounted mirrors give perfectreat vision, making the screen mounted mirror almost superflous.

Back in the day, Heart of England also sold stainless mirror bases + arms. which are a significant improvement on the originals. Since HoE closed, I haven't seen any advertised, although Melvyn or Librands might do them.

Heart of England is a real loss - loads of fabulous stainless goodies.

Indeed ... full stainless would be good ..... do the Librands ones come with bases?

Happy to entertain less obvious sources .... I'm a 'Maker and Mender' who loves adapting stuff to get what I want ... and my frugal soul will only be happy with paying £160 for a pair of wing mirrors as a last resort!! 😁

Yep, I must have bought one of everything that John sold before he retired. Amazing quality stuff.

K

Don't throw them out I really like the look of them, nice and minimalist thumbs a lot nicer than those long armed standard things I have on mine.
