K, great to read of you and your good lady`s enjoyment of your Morgan. (-: When it comes to returns on the investment of time energy skill and some cash too, they don`t come much better than purring down the road riding on or driving a machine you have rebuilt yourself.....and on a warm dry day....What`s more to want... Fantastic.

Had it not been for me being so impressed following that big ol vintage Bentley with it`s large engine, I suspect a Trad 4/4 would have been my choice of Morgan, given I was ever messing with Fords and well used to their mechanicals.

Also thanks to all the others populating this thread, especially those posting pics. Craig, you captured a really nice image there, thanks for posting.

Well the local farmers are always right and it did rain overnight and this morning lightly, I would be too embarrassed to send it your way as it was only a scatt but just enough to invoke the Petrichor, lovely..

Just enough to halt the harvesting, which is mostly in down here anyway.

After another re-engineering attempt of the troublesome pedal assembly, I devised a sort of floating independent shaft and bearing style (pat pending blush)

So, a blast out into Derbyshire with a photo op at Stanage Edge rockery

We were in Sidmouth/Budleigh/Exmouth at the weekend, but departed before the rain arrived. Hereabouts in the New Forest the rain has been somewhat biblical today. The fungi love it, I spotted this rather splendid "Chicken of the Woods" (type of bracket fungus) on an old oak locally. Reminds me of Craig's car (in a nice way !).

Glad you had a good weekend and rain free down here.
It keeps threatening but we still haven't had any to talk about.

Fascinating picture, they always intrigue me - there is a huge dark brown one on a tree in Paignton Zoo, I'll take a picture of it next visit when the youngsters are down later on in the month.

I can see Craig's sand colour in your picture too.

A trip of 1350 k in one and a half days with heavy rain all the way. The car performed flawlessly and towels absorbed the drips from top of the windscreen. It was 110 kph speed limit most of the way on the motorway and only one set of traffic lights. Average fuel consumption 6.4 l/100k. The trip was was from Carrum a suburb or Melbourne to Sancrox near Port Macquarie on the NSW mid north coast.

That's a good solid run by any standards! ... especially with the adverse weather ... good to hear the Morgan breezed it! ... hopefully the weather will pick up a bit so you can enjoy having gone all that way!! 🙂

K

Ps ... the joys of the internet .....Sancrox weather looking decent for tomorrow and hood-down weather over the weekend! .... if it's any consolation for the rainy drive your Winter temperatures are looking much the same as our Summer ones up here in the NE of Scotland! 🙂

I am certainly looking forward to much more top down use in the warmer climate up here. I know there is other Morgan’s in the surrounding areas I just need to find them and get out on the road.
