A couple of years ago we were waiting fora delivery. Checked online and “out for delivery”. Nothing arrivd. Tried to contact the courier and managed to track down a tel number bu using google to find posts from disgruntled customers. Eventually got through to a human ( I use the term loosely). Refused to give out info as I was not their customer. The seller was. I bit my tongue. Decided to waste the non-human’s time with extended talking. I’d had enough and had time to spare so a bit of payback.
The parcel arrived 2 days later.

Technically they are right and it is a better way of getting it sorted with blood pressure issues.

The people paying for the shipment own the issue. Phone the supplier using them and make their life awkward. Let them spend an hour on the phone trying to find the person with the brain cell that day. I quite enjoy the delegation. Also point out that the distance trading stuff means they have a problem

I crossed those two tidal roads years ago in my MG Metro. The water was almost a foot deep, and with the benefit of hindsight I should have turned round.

I didn't realise there were two, so having got across the first one OK, the second one looked impassable. So I knocked on the door of the cottage which stands adjacent, and the owner took a measured look at the poles, and told me it would be OK.

It was OK. grin2

My mother wasn't impressed.

We have driven that road on a number of occasions, it pays to know the tide times... quite fun when the tide is on the way out and there is an inch or so of water...but not in a Morgan....
People take it because the dry way round to the Oyster Shack (recommended) is a lot further.
You have to be reasonably unobservant not to notice that the road is effectively on a sea bed...
Every year it gets people.

The Lady of the Manor holds retreats there which Heather has attended (invitation only) on a few occasions, a lovely lady that owns a lot of the village including the church and all that encompasses. She was the Worldwide president of the Mothers Union organisation a while back and travelled extensively within the role, hence Heathers ongoing connection as the Diocesan Action and Outreach Rep.

The Oyster Shack is well worth a visit when you are down in the area, as is the Winking Prawn at Salcombe if you can get parked. If you do get parked it is a short stroll up to Overbecks NT property and gardens for a Devon Cream tea and a nice overview of the estuary.

Salcombe killing the golden goose ?
