Hi I have a 1990 +4 and can’t find the indicator/hazard relay I was told it was under the dashboard but I can’t see it. I’ve checked all the fuses and they are fine. One relay I’ve found under the bonnet (which looks the part) is numbered REL 1 DB DC12v 30A LP0407. Could someone have moved it?

If it is like my 97 +4 was it is just hidden in the loom behind the dash. If you lie on your back & use a torch behind the dash you might find it

If it's like my 73 4/4 the problem was the rocker switch. I took it apart and cleaned it. All good.

Malachy,
I had a 1989 Plus 4 M16 and my relay was up at the top of the firewall on the right of the steering wheel.

Hi Malachy,

a typical indicator/flasher relay should have 3 connectors numbered:
- 49 (lightgreen (LG) cable from hazard switch)
- 49a (lightgreen/brown to indicator, hazard)
- 31 (black - earth/ground).
See the following diagram for a 1990 car https://franks4x4-morgantechnical.blogspot.com/2019/11/other-morgan-wiring-diagrams.html
(A power relay will have 4 or 5 connector, numbered 30,87,87a, 85 & 86 - I assume that this is one you have under the bonnet.)

On my 1984 Morgan I had an older flasher with two connectors (49 and 49a) - ground was directly done because it was attached with the screw to the bulkhead just behind the steering wheel.

Just try to follow the LG cable from the Hazard switch.
Careful: lightgreen is also used in BSAU7 standard cabling for Voltage Stabilizer to gauges (eg. fuel & temp)
Do see this in the 1990 wiring diagram... but who knows.

Hope this helps
Regards
Tim

I was told that it might be a power cable issue as both the hazard and indicator relays are different therefore it’s very unlikely that both relays would breakdown together. My wife is getting used to hand signals but other drivers don’t appear to understand them. I’ve now pulled and pushed nearly every wire under the dashboard to no avail

Looking at the wiring diagram, the hazard and turn signals go through the hazard rocker switch. The contacts inside the switch get dirty and they don't allow the flow of power. It is possible to, carefully, take the switch apart and clean it. Or replace it.

That is my guess.
