Thanks, much apprecaited. When fitting these mirrors did you use regular nuts fed up from below the dash or rivnuts fitted from above? Was just thinking about metal fatigue with mirror vibration over time. Or am I over thinking things again?

Malcolm, I used a rubber gasket cut from a bit of thin sheet, then some nice domed SS bolts fitted from the top and below a spreader washer with nyloc nuts below the scuttle

I used rubber gasket inside and out plus 2 large washers under nylock nuts
M3W 2017 Sport blue.

Nice figment and info . I have a 2017 , and run a “ Fatman “ 2”x4” rear view mirror. It’s a Hot Rod auto mirror. All polished alum . Avail with a flat glass or an awesome convex glass lense. They also have cool accessories and mounts. My mirror has a 1 “ threaded pad , which I epoxied high up on my windscreen center post .
