Very distinctive Just needs a front spoiler now. Agree, well sort of Trouble is none of the off the shelf front valance options float my boat, I've studied them all and nothing hits the spot. The best I can come up with so far is a Wolf Performance Sport Valance adapted for front outriggers like this... ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/nPtqpr0/wolf-performance-plain-sport-valance-aperture-Overider-Mod.jpg) But it'll look wrong as I am no longer running the front numberplate, so it needs to be further adapted to incorporate a TOK 258 mesh oil cooler box... Basically a hybrid of this... ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/nswZv6r/morgan-plain-sports-valance-3-1024x768.jpg) Plus this... ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/7SHPpc2/TOK-258.jpg) Just with outriggers as per the first image, and they say I'm hard to please

Once I had a front spoiler with my Plus 4 SS, that looked well integrated. But TBH I like my 4/4 without one very much and for me it is the classic look.

I have painted the bottom exposed third of my extended ally rad, the satin black treatment has certainly helped but you could argue it's still a bit.... ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/3rchNhr/71-PNWr-Qbk6-L-AC-SX300-SY300-QL70-ML2.jpg) However, while I'm waiting to settle on the best way forward, I feel the answer is simply to 'Leave It As Is'. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/xJdfyPW/Bugs-Bunny.jpg) The above is probably the worst visual angle there is, so it seems I'll largely be fitting a front valance for the aesthetic benefit snakes and snails ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/sQjvFyT/Homo-Erectus-2.jpg) I honestly feel this 'natural for homo erectus' view point really isn't that offensive.

By way of illustration my Wolf sport valance with GT aperture, accomodating Cain's prototype overrider mounts and added bracing bar behind. Latter really stiffens up the otherwise floppy OE mounts. If you zoom in bar can just be seen through aperture grill. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/mK32CG5.jpg) I believe pic above was taken before I needed to replace OE rad with ally SiFab one but the valance covers both anyway. The aperture specified is the only one that matches full width of grill above.

Seeing Monty again now reinforces my inclination to do without a front spoiler. Monty has that slightly rough but very sporty look of her era. Sorry if opinions differ here and I don't want to offend anyone but somehow I find the front spoiler on a Trad a bit like a fabric softener. But what in my view is very cool are the Le Mans horns, which add enough aesthetic rounding without changing the classic shape of the front.

Excellent Heinz, I absolutely agree with your above comment ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/sQjvFyT/Homo-Erectus-2.jpg) I think I'm at the stage now with Monty's cosmetic enhancements where I need to be careful not to just keep adding things. If I thought a front valance would transform Monty's looks I'd definitely fit one, but I largely remain unconvinced it will. Being honest I'm just not finding myself completely falling in love with any of the available front valance options, probably because it doesn't necessarily follow my 'vintage competition car' aesthetic theme. Since buying Monty I've been on a bit of a spending spree with the objective of getting him handling and looking as I want, the car was purchased for the right money so there was always some room to make these changes without falling into negative equity. Having now reached the point where I've achieved all my goals for the car I now need to be careful not to overspend, any future enhancement must be extremely carefully considered and will have to offer a real measurable improvement before gaining budget approval. However, as we all know buying car parts is one of life's great pleasures so to that end and given I'm incurably weak , on Friday I pulled the trigger on a Williams double buckle leather bonnet strap in brown with brass furniture ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/98hss1g/Williams-double-brass-buckle-bonnet-strap-2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/tq92ZZc/Williams-double-brass-buckle-bonnet-strap.jpg) Quite simply a nice leather bonnet strap makes me happy, and at £184.00 delivered to my door it offers an excellent cost to happiness equation. A front valance on the other hand is going to be rather more expensive, especially once it's been professionally painted and fitted. However, I just can't see it massively enhancing Monty's aesthetics in proportion to the outlay, so the easiest option is simply to save my cash and not to fit one at all. Of course that doesn’t mean progress stops here, next up are these lovely proper enamel on brass Union Jack wing emblems ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/G9XnbzP/bgb-591-uj-copper-4000001.jpg)

Some people cut to screw holes off and stick them on with something sticky. This is the way u would go. However the screwed on method does come in useful. The screw thread obviously protrudes through the bonnet, and I use a bamboo cane as a bonnet prop, with the screw thread going into the natural hole inside the cane.
